Capital Dragons was founded by Tim Daly of Ottawa, Ontario in 2003. Tim’s passion for bearded dragons took him across North America in search of the finest dragons available.

Tim always had a love for animals, and not unlike myself, spent “hours searching for frogs and turtles” at his cottage when he was young.

While living in his first apartment and looking through “Reptiles Magazine” for his first reptile pet he says, “only one picture caught my eye; it was a cute little bearded dragon.” After much research, he purchased his first bearded dragon, “Larry”.

“Larry turned out to be a girl” and coincidentally, his friend had a male and they decided to try breeding. It was “the babies sixty days later” that inspired him - “they were the cutest things I had ever seen”.

Years later, while looking through a reptile magazine, Tim saw an ad representing Sandfire Dragon Ranch and was amazed at the colour of the dragon in the ad. He decided he “wanted a dragon of equal precedence”. Despite his determined efforts, he was unable to find a dragon of that “caliber”. It was this incident that led him to form the Capital Dragons collection.

“I have gone to great lengths to be able to provide Canadians with some of North America’s finest bloodlines. I have been extremely lucky to obtain some truly stunning dragons which Canadians now have access to.”
